Jonell Johnson is a Hatha yoga teacher for kids and teens, a local student, and musician. Her teaching techniques branch from training at TMCC, a continuous personal Hatha yoga practice, and a spiritual lifestyle. She teaches yoga for the City of Reno and Sierra Kids Program. She incorporates her experience with art, music, after school, preschool, and daycare programs to make yoga fun and exciting for kids. Though all of her classes follow a traditional Hatha yoga style, teen classes tend to involve more postures, breathing exercises, and lower energy activities than kids classes. All Jonell’s classes involve brief Yoga history and understanding, safety procedures, stretching techniques, traditional poses and postures for the most part, breathing exercises, and relaxation.
